Welcome to Our Village

A Community of Love, Connection, Healing and Growth

Our Story: From Arena to Our Village

Our Village was born from a vision of love, healing, and unwavering support. In 2015, Nussy Munk zt”l and Sony Perlman founded Arena Sober Living, a place that quickly became a beacon of hope for those seeking a supportive sober environment.
Following Nussy’s untimely passing, Arena closed in 2017, but the need for a recovery-focused, attachment-based community remained. In 2019, Sony Perlman, a seasoned expert in the field and clinical director of Our Place drop-in center in Brooklyn, approached the Our Place founders with an idea: to reopen the sober living home under their umbrella This conversation sparked the birth of Our Village—a thriving, loving community for those on their journey to recovery.

Our Philosophy: Lasting Change Through Love and Community

At Our Village, we believe that addiction is often rooted in a deep sense of unworthiness—a belief that one is unloved and undeserving. Our approach is simple yet transformative: we envelope each person in unwavering love, nurturing them until their inherent worth begins to surface.

Key Outcomes:

  • Restored Self-Worth – A deeply compassionate environment where individuals come to see themselves as valuable and loved.
  • Natural Growth & Healing – By filling the void of love, we empower individuals to step into their innate strength and competence.
  • Enduring Community – Lifelong bonds that continue to provide love and support, ensuring no one walks this journey alone.

Through boundless love, acceptance, and an unshakable belief in each person’s potential, Our Village creates a space where true healing happens—where individuals not only recover but rediscover themselves and their place in a caring, supportive community.

Our Method: Transforming Recovery with Love

At Our Village, we believe that true recovery isn’t about tough love, rigid structure, or forcing change. People don’t need to be pushed—they need to be deeply seen, embraced, and loved until they begin to believe in themselves again. When given that kind of unwavering support, they naturally step into their own strength.
We are committed to:

  • Showing, through our success, that love is the most powerful force for transformation.
  • Proving that when people feel truly valued, their own wisdom and capability emerge.
  • Creating a model of healing that others can replicate, sparking the growth of more love-based recovery communities.
  • Demonstrating that deep, compassionate connection is the key to lasting transformation.

By proving that a recovery model rooted in love is not only effective but life-changing, we hope to inspire a shift in how the recovery world approaches healing—one person, one community at a time.
